With an aim to bring government, corporate sector, educationists and youth closer to share their experiences on all aspects of urbanization and modernization of cities in Pakistan. Jadeed Pakistan Initiative and Youth Parliament organized the 4th edition of Jadeed Karachi Conference on 14th October 2021 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi. The conference was attended by Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Rehan Hashmi, Muhammad Hanif Gohar, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Haji Rafiq Perdasi, Saqib Azhar, Imran Arif, Zeeshan Altaf Lohya, Imtiaz Hussain, Ahsan Mehanti, Dr Safiuddin Siddiqui, Salman Aslam, Idrees Memon, Hunaid Lakhani, Dr. Aftab Imam, Abdul Rauf Tabani, Farhan Anwar, Asim Bashir Khan and Shahzad Qureshi. Barrister Murtaza Wahab administered oath to the Provincial Members of Sindh Cabinet. Youth Parliament’s Sindh Cabinet members presented the resolutions on the betterment and development of Karachi. These resolutions included:
1: Formation of Digital Portal for public complaints.
2: Planning for a Karachi to be free from environmental pollution.
3: Elimination of encroachments in Karachi.
4: Implementation on Karachi Master Plan. 5:
Action against Poor wiring systems.
6: Local municipal elections in Karachi.
7: Action against Water Mafia in Karachi.
8: Formation of Model Union Councils.
9: Establishment of Community Police.
10: Metropolitan City Standard transport system in Karachi.
During his address Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab said: “Through better guidance and encouragement, the potential of youth can be utilized for the welfare and development of the country and the nation.” Minister for Education Govt of Sindh Syed Sardar Ali Shah appreciated efforts of Youth Parliament and said: “The only solution to bring sustainable change in the city is bring lower middle class sector in the parliament”. Senior Politician Dr. Farooq Sattar said: “With the ownership of Karachi we need urgent formation of Karachi Urban Development Platform to bring change and solve basic issues of the city”. Mr. Hunaid Lakhani said: “It is essential that young people are engaged in country’s political processes. Today’s youth need real opportunities to participate in political processes and contribute to practical solutions for advance development”. Mr. Rizwan Jaffar said: “Our vision is to make Pakistan better for coming generations. Youth Parliament’s Jadeed Pakistan Initiative aims to implement Sustainable Development Goals at the district level”. On this occasion, several companies received awards for showing outstanding performance for Jadeed Karachi. These companies included K-Electric, GFS Builders, HMR Group, Gohar Group, Enablers, Z International School, Al-Karam Towel Industries (Pvt) Limited, A&I Group of Companies, Elaaj, Arif Habib Commodities & Fire Protection Industry of Pakistan.
