The Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Government of Sindh is actively supporting youth in areas such as sports, recreation, start-ups, and digital technology training. This initiative was announced by Mr. Jalaluddin Mahar, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, during the “International Youth Day Festival. In his address, Mr. Mahar highlighted the vital role that young people play in shaping the nation’s future. The festival, held on August 12, 2024 at Port Grand Karachi, was organized by the Youth Parliament in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Government of Sindh. The event was attended by members and supporters of the Youth Parliament. During the event, new members who are candidates in the Sindh Shadow Cabinet Elections for 2024-2026 were presented with membership cards by the Chief Guest. They were also given the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their vision for joining the Youth Parliament. The festival featured “Show Your Talent” performances designed for the entertainment of guests and visitors, and it concluded with a Cake Cutting Ceremony.Distinguished guests included Ms. Huma Bukhari, Co-Chairperson of the Newports Institute of Communications & Economics, Muhammad Hanif Khan, Former Governor of Rotary International, and Aadil Askari, MPA of the Sindh Assembly. Ms. Bukhari commended the energy and dedication of the youth, who actively participated under the guidance of Mr. Rizwan Jaffar, founder of the Youth Parliament. Mr. Rizwan Jaffar, Founder & Chairman of the Youth Parliament, emphasized the tremendous potential of young leaders and briefed the Chief Guest on the Youth Parliament’s past achievements and upcoming projects, which are designed to inspire and empower the youth. He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to all participants for attending the International Youth Day Festival 2024.
